Pristine Whitefish Lake, 7 miles long, has two beautiful swimming beaches, City Beach and Les Mason Park. There is a public boat launch at City Beach and boat rentals at various locals.

Whitefish is rich in history. The historic Great Northern Railway Station is the focal point of the downtown area. The station houses the Whitefish Museum displaying railroad artifacts and community memorabilia. The station is still used daily by travelers arriving on Amtrak's Empire Builder.

Tour The Great Northern Brewing Company and sample the local brew. The O'Shaughnessy Cultural Arts Center provides year round entertainment from theatre to dance and music. Take a leisurely stroll downtown along the covered sidewalks where you can check out specialty shops, galleries, unique cafes, and restaurants.

Whitefish Ski Resort on Big Mountain is minutes away from Whitefish. The resort is a skier's paradise and has skiing for all levels including intermediate runs to expert, groomed to powder. Three high speed quads help you get the most out of your skiing day. In the winter, shuttle buses run frequently from Whitefish to the base if you opt not to drive.

The resort is open in the summer and offers a variety of activities. For an adrenaline rush, try the 3-hour zip line tour or experience a Walk in the Treetops, a 2 1/2 hour guided tour on an elevated boardwalk through the treetop canopy. With 20+ miles of bike trails, lift-accessed mountain biking enables you to start biking from the summit. Enjoy the gondola ride from the base to the summit for dramatic views of Flathead Valley and Glacier National Park.

Glacier National Park is only 25 miles away from Whitefish. It is the area's top summer destination where you can view the spectacular glacier lakes, stunning mountain vistas and abundant wildlife. Drive or take a ride on the red bus tour on the Going to the Sun Road for the most scenic drive. Hike on your choice of over 700 miles of trails through forests and mountains.
